Question:

Which universities offer a combined undergraduate and medical school program that takes 6 years max?

i would prefer universities in london or toronto ontario canada but ones close by say michigan or ohio are good too.

i would like to specialize in dermatology (if thats a factor.)

also if anyone is familiar with the medstart program at wayne state university in michigan and has any information on that I'd appreciate it.

  1. Here's the MedStart program at Wayne State.  It isn't a 6-year program; it's a 4-year BS followed by 4 years of med school.  It's very competitive, and only 15 students per year get this award.  Here's the web site:

    They have several information sessions on campus coming up soon, so you might want to have a look at their calendar.

    The Medical College of Ohio at the University of Toledo also has a MedStart program.  Their program, however, allows you to apply to med school as a college junior.  You still have to complete your 4 years of the bachelor's degree, but you have a guaranteed medical school spot and you know a year early that you have it.

    Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy has the blended BS/MD program.  You can go from high school into pre-med and finish medical school within 6 or 7 years instead of the traditional 8 years.  There are 17 programs in the US that offer a blended program.  I don't know what the rest of them are, but it shouldn't be too difficult to Google for them.
