Which university has the best courses on cultural anthropology?

Off the top of my head, Columbia's department was one of the original and best departments - I think that reputation probably still holds up. UC Berkeley was also always important.

I am sure there are other great programs out there others can suggest. And of course, some universities might be better for undergraduates, or for certain area of specialty.

The best programs in the US are definitely the University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, and the University of Michigan. They are best, most theoretically compelling programs. Some other good programs include: Stanford, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, and U Texas - Austin. Choosing a good program really depends on which program has a course of study that works best for you though. Berkeley is AMAZING if you're interested in medical anthropology; however Chicago is better if you're interested in historical anthropology.
