Which used Nissan model is better? Sentra or Maxima?

I am deadset on a Nissan, but I am not sure which model to get. It is going to be used and between 2000-2004. I have narrowed it down to 2 models. Sentra and Maxima.

Sentra is more reliable, much smaller and better on gas.

Maxima is large luxury sedan with V6 engine. It is fast and has more room.

well the snetra is more like a "student" car for me. its small and is good on gas.

the maxima is bigger and better in my opinion, V6 power, nice roomy interior,good looks on the outside. now the 00-03 models look different from the 04-08. now if i had a choice i would choose the 04 model. test drive one and you'll know what i mean.

both of this cars are dependable, just be good to it.

I've always liked the maximas better.  I don't know which is better as far a quality or dependability, though.  I just like the looks of the Maxima better!

You are actually on 2 opposite sides of the nissan spectrum of cars. The Sentra being the entry level "econobox" vehicle, and the Maxima being the flagship sedan of the line-up.

Decide what is important to you:

Sentra: will definitely cost you less, but it will not have as many options and the engine will be less smooth, but the trade off would be a cheaper price, and better fuel economy.

Maxima: the Maxima's VQ engine has been proven for reliability and has even won some awards, and is nice and smooth. A Maxima will offer you options like Bose stereo, Heated Leather seats, and a quieter and more refined cabin, but it will end up costing you a bit more and it will not have the fuel economy of the little sentra.

the sentra and maxima are both good reliable cars

if you need something small that gets good gas mileage go with the sentra

if you want something bigger, a v6 engine< maximas only come with a v6, its more fun to drive since it has more power, gas mileage wont be as great as the sentra .. then go with the maxima

its all in your hands now both are good cars
