Question:

Which uses less energy/electricity a tower fan or a ceiling fan?

I dont know which one is smarter to use. They both cool the same, I figure they use about the same amount of energy but since I couldnt find any info about it online I really dont know.

  2. The individual fan should specify its wattage. Most fans of recent design move close to the same amount of air with the same amount of electricity.

    What you may want to consider though is that a ceiling fan disturbs air vertically and does a poor job of bringing in outside air if that is what you need to do.

    If you want to save on winter heating costs, a ceiling fan will bring warm  air down to where you live.

    Every fan is most efficient (moving most air for a watt) if it is operating at maximum speed, and uses the least absolute amount of energy when slowed down.
