Which uses more electricity...an electric water kettle or a kettle that you heat on a stovetop?

I like to keep my environmental impact to a minimum if possible, so I was wondering which uses the least amount of energy and is therefore a better use of my money.

  1. The electric water kettle uses a lot less electricity than an electric stove to heat water. The elements on the stove are larger and takes more electricity to make them work for you.
