Which uses more energy a swamp cooler or a furnace that uses propane to heat a house?

I have a furnace that uses propane the fan on it looks like it's about as big as my swamp cooler so I just wondered.

  1. As far as overall energy, the furnace uses a lot more since it's using both electricity for the fan, and the propane's BTU/CF value.  As far as electricity use, it depends on the amp ratings for the motor, but generally the swamp cooler will be more efficent because of the fan type.
