  1. Plants are not the main source of oxygen in the air. People always think they are, because plants do change carbon dioxide into oxygen, but they do it far too slowly to be an important source of oxygen in the air. Certain bacteria are believed to be the main source, but I don't think anyone has conclusively proved that.


  2. The bigger and more plentiful the leaves; the more oxygen produced.   So tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, squash, etc.
