Which version of Christianity is the right one?

Roman Catholicism certainly has the numbers and the history, but what about all the other ones claiming to be true Christianity?

Also, why have the Irish been killing each other over this for so long?

  1. I would not want to lead anyone astray, so this is MY opinion. The one that puts all pomp and circumstance aside, loves it's fellow man, and believes wholeheartedly that Jesus is the son of God and died for our sakes, that Jesus is God.

Some reasons this believer doesn't have a regularly attended church.

  2. Just ask yourself, do I wanna religion based on tradition, or a religion that's based on accurate bible knowledge and facts?

  3. Loaded question. The honest answer I can give you is the Seventh-day Adventist church.

    http://www.adventist.org/

    GOD bless

  4. A true Christian follows Christ and Christ alone. Any versions different from that are false.

  5. The lord Jesus Christ is our won and only savior. Believe that he died on the cross to save you from your sins and you will become saved. Now you can soend eternity in heaven with our wonderful savior

  6. Since it is obviously inconceivable that all religions can be right, the most reasonable conclusion is that they are all wrong.

  7. The one that follows the teachings of Jesus of the Bible and NOT what a man says the Bible says.

    Read the Bible.

  8. Each denomination has bits and pieces of the truth - and each also has fallacies and mistakes

The challenge is determining which is which. That is what the Bible is for.

  9. You have got to stop looking at the different versions of Christianity, but look to Christ. What does that mean??

Quiet your doubts and pray to Christ who is God (really, what will this hurt, except pride, but really WHAT  is pride??)

17I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

This means that just like a child who has no agenda, who just heard about God, believed and prayed to him.

Also understand that God chooses us, not the other way around, so my salvation is not because of my "holiness" or "godly nature", but because God wanted to give the gift of salvation to me.

He wants the same for you and your dad.

As far as the Catholics and Protestans,  the spirit of hostility and murder, is not from God. Even if it is in the name of God. Same goes for the crusades.

  10. There are many paths up the mountain.  Its an individual choice.  The right one is the one that helps ones spiritual development.

  11. There is only one, everybody else is just a cult. Catholics, Jehovia Witnesses, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, United Penocostals and others like them are all cults. They all follow something other than the bible which means they are not following the God of the bible which means they are not Christian. Christian is someone who only believes in and follows just the bible. There is only one form of Christianity. Anyone who learns only from the bible and no other doctrine are all the same, they all just go by a different name, such as prodestants, non-denominational churches, and baptists.

There is alot of misconception out there about what is christian and what isnt. Following the bible only=christian, following other doctrines while claiming biblical beliefs=not christian.

Sorry, didnt see your question about the Irish. To answer honestly, it isnt just them. People of all religions and countries have fought over their beliefs, like the crusades for the holy lands  And when the Catholics murdered the knights Templars and stole their land and wealth. Also all the fighting in the mideast is about religion. The Jews and Palestinians have been fighting for thousands of years over the land because of their Ancestor, Abraham (a biblical character of the old testament). He had a legitimate son and an illegitiamte one. The legit one was second born the illegit one was first born. They are fighting over who has rights because the Palestinians decended from the illegit son and the Jews decended from the Legit one. The argument goes the first born inherits the land, but since he wasnt legitimate, his birth rank doesnt count so it actualy belongs to the second son therefore the land rights go to the Jews. Confusing I know.

sorry so long. I cant help but being detailed.

  12. None of them.  They're all way out to lunch.  Speaking of lunch, I generally lose mine every time I hear someone talk about "The Word of God", whether they're Christian OR Muslim  .... and I used to be a Christian full-time minister.

  13. I don't know if "true" Christianity could be described to someone, or for that fact a true Christian. Everyone who tries their best is being true to themselves. I can tell you how to find an "actual" Christian though. You will see it in their lives, the way they act and the way they treat others, without them ever having to proclaim their religious affiliation to you. Thanks for asking and have a nice day!

  14. if you read the book of mormon where you will find the testimony of joseph smith jr.

Joseph asked God in prayer and when Jesus appeared with God the Father, One of them said :

Join NONE of Them, they are all wrong.

  15. I'd like to think Catholicism is right.

  16. The only right one:

    Matthew 22 Chapter

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

  17. Hehe.  "Real" Christian people.

Well they're all right... in their own minds.  But as far as what actually matters, none of the above.

  18. When the Europeans were coming to the Americas for the first time, a group of them created a version of Christianity, and called themselves 'Puritans.'  This was a protest to the extra fluffiness that comes with Catholicism, and is a pure, straight-out-of-the-Bible religion.  These days it would be known more as non-denominational.  look around for a 'Bible' church.  Methodists are also quite similar.  I personally believe that this is the right version of Christianity, especially considering there's nothing added to it, or taken away from it.

  19. Just the plain old kind that follow the teachings of Jesus Christ sans doctrines, traditions. It's not about following a "religion", it's about belief..Real belief in Him.

  20. Each sect believes it is the truest expression of Christ's church.  Oh, the futility!

  21. >>I'm just looking for a straight answer to the question.<<

    Catholicism.

  22. The "right" version of Christianity is not found under a certain denominational sign. It's found in congregations where a Pastor has been gifted and called by God and he teaches what the Bible teaches without adding the traditions of men or speaking dogmatically about debatable doctrines like how future prophecies age going to play out.

  23. Ill give you the short version of what Christianity is. It is described as being a relationship with the true and living God through the person of Jesus Christ by whom we are forgiven of our sins and escape the righteous judgment of God. Christianity is the only religion that teaches salvation by grace.  This means that we are not made right before God by our efforts, sincerity, or works.  Instead, we are made right before God by faith in what Christ did on the cross.   Christianity further teaches that once a person is "born again" (becomes saved) that the Holy Spirit lives in that person and the person is changed:  "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come," (2 Cor. 5:17).  This means that God actually lives in the person and the Christian then experiences a true and living relationship with God..

      That pretty much covers it.

  24. The first thing I will say is just as there is only one God, there is only one true bible.

Now, with one bible, you may have five to ten different interpretations of that bible, resulting in different religions based upon their interpretation of the bible.

Now, suppose men make other translations. And with each translation, you have five to ten different interpretations resulting in different religions based upon their interpretation of the bible.

Mankind is not correct in saying all are wrong. Yet, it could be said most are.

Now, who benefits by flooding the world with several diverse religions? It does not benefit God. It benefits the devil.

Because he is creating confusion. How? By everyone thinking their way is right causing dissention amongst believers or by men staying away from religion not knowing which is right. And so on and so forth.

So which is the right religion?

It will closely resemble the early church started by Jesus Christ through his apostles and will bare the sign of a believer as spoken of in Mark 16.

Which bible is the right tranlation? It is the one that has stood the test of time and cuts all other translations assunder.

How can one know which bible this is?

It is written that Jesus Christ, God's Son, is the Word of God.

Jesus said his flock will know his voice. Since Jesus is the Word of God, his voice can be heard within the confines of God's Holy Bible. Find the bible that was known only as the Holy Bible for nearly 200 years and you will find God's infallible Word.

  25. If you read the book of Acts the first Christians baptized in Jesus name and spoke in tongues. So they were Pentecostal.

Act 2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 2:37  Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Act 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

  26. The one that believes in Jesus.

    The rest is details.

  27. First, I did not know Christianity had versions. Now, I hope you are not confusing 'religion' with 'Christianity'.Look at the word 'Christianity' and you will see Christ- the Holy One who is the same yesterday, today and forever. When you choose Christ and He is the center of your existence every day of the week, you have found the Pearl of Great Price. No matter who claims to be right and true, God is the Righteous Judge; and He knows everything about us.When people realize that God chose mankind first because He loves the world and gave Jesus Christ His Son to ransom mankind and choose to worship and serve Him, they will have love, peace, joy- the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Until that time, people will search, kill, hurt and produce the fruit of evil. The best answer to this question comes by asking God for the answer; and He will listen to the prayer of an atheist who for one moment believes that God exists and will hear the cry of his heart..

Mormons go to the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. They are Christians.

  29. Learn what Christ taught and follow it. It isn't hard to understand and there aren't any secrets. He was very clear about what it took to be his follower.

  30. Hey dude, if you want to be a christian, first of all, all those religions follow the same based thought, and belief on a "God", with the same stories and bible, and the same views of afterlife.

But once again, why would you want to be in a religion that cut themselves apart even from other Christian religions and for example that crazy woman that came on tv screaming she was a warrior of god and such, that's the peak of Christian religion...

If you want to find a religion because your not strong enough to keep yourself up without a higher believe system, then I recommend you Hinduism or Buddhism, in my 3 years of religious studies I've achieved the conclusion than this two religions are the most peaceful, self-achieving, scientifically proven ones.

  31. To answer your last question first, the Irish have been fighting the English (essentially) because of politics, not so much religion.  Religion enters into the fray because the Irish have been devout Catholics for centuries, but when England started "bullying" them, they brought over their brand of Protestantism.  So, from that point onward, Protestants have been synomonus with the English.  Truly, it has been a fight over nationality--I'm not sure why it's portrayed as religious.

Now, to the first question--All forms of Protestantism has come from the Church (Catholic Church) beginning with Luther in the 16th century.  Before that, there was one Catholic Church, although there were many heresies that had came and went.  It started as one break, but then other people got the idea that they could interpret the Bible their own way (not the Church's way) which resulted in more and more breaks, until today, where you have about 30,000 Protestant denominations.

Many of the issues that the protestants have had with the Church's beliefs can be answered, usually by looking at what the early Church, particularly, the Church Fathers, have said or done with regards to the priesthood, the Pope, the Eucharist and confession.  St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Augustine, St. Irenaus--these people wrote about beliefs in the 2nd and 3rd centuries that the Catholic Church still practices today.

I know that's a bit much to handle--and there's more!  But I think a close look at the early Church and comparing it to today's churches would give one a good idea.
