  1. It is the same thing.  Castillian is one of the languages spoken in Spain.  Same as English is one of the languages spoken in Great Britain.  All of Latin America speaks Castilian Spanish.  The variations in accent or regional words really are few and usually have to do with incorporating words form the original native language.  Look at it this way.  English in England, America, South Africa or Australia is the same language right?  The differences are in the accents and a few regional word variations (like saying lift instead of elevator.) the same goes for Spanish.

  2. The Spanish in Peru is more similar to spanish in the rest of Latin America.  It is less like the Spanish from Spain -- pure Castellano (with the vosotros form and the distinctly Spanish accent).  I assume that is what you mean by this question.

  3. What?? I'm peruvian and I don't underestand what you mean?Theres no such a thing like latin american spanish hello???Spanish comes from the castellano (castillan) language. And several languagues like spanish, french and italian come from latin.(the old languague)

  4. My wife lived in Peru for 15 years and when she went to language school in Lima, she learned both Castillian Spanish and Quetchua.  There is a difference between the way Spanish is spoken in Peru and in Spain... and I have a problem with the accent Peruvians have... but I can still understand them if I concentrate.
