I am thinking about buying a camera and i am wondering what type of camera would be best (Mini DV, HD, etc.) so the format would be easy to import and be editable on apps for the PC (such as Sony Vegas).

  1. Personally, I like Mini DV with Firewire to connect to your computer.  I'd stay away from the ones that use a miniDVD disc because you can't use them in a slot loading computer.  Also, built in HD is convenient, but what if you fill up the hard disc and don't have a computer to plug into to unload it?  With MiniDV, as long as you have tapes, you can keep on shooting.  And you can import them with any video editing app.
