Hey,

I'm thinking of buying a video camera for some home videos etc. I'm not looking into a handycam, like the one's from Sony. I'm looking for something more professional. I'm thinking of buying a whole set, maybe a small boom mic, a tripod, etc.

Which one should I buy and where? I hear ebay sells these kinds of things really cheap, but I don't know what to type in the search box

  1.  The current cast video cameras ranges from small to smaller in sizes. They have become easy to carry and use, and they let you shoot hours of rich, vivid high-definition videos.

Digital cameras enter the market at around $600 -$1,100. The best five video cameras according to me include the following:

    1.  Canon ZR80 MiniDV Camcorder w/18x Optical Zoom by Canon

    2.  Canon Elura 50 Ultra Compact MiniDV Camcorder with 2"LCD and Memory Capability by Canon

    3.  Sony DCRPC105 MiniDV 1.0 Mega Pixel Handycam Camcorder with 2.5" Swivel LCD by Sony

    4.  Canon GL2 MiniDV Digital Camcorder w/20x Optical Zoom by Canon

    5. DXG DXG-595V 5.0 Megapixel High-Definition Ultra Digital Video Camera by DXG

  2. There is a large list of companies that manufacture the Professional video cameras, for instance Sony Canon Casio Pentax Panasonic Olympus Samsung Niko. Digital video cameras generally offer extremely fine-grained manual control for the camera operator, often to the exclusion of automated operation. You can select any camera form the given list as they gave good results in all performance tests:

    • Canon Vixia HF S21

    • Canon Vixia HF S200

    • Panasonic HDC-TM700

    • Sony Handycam HDR-CX550V

    • Panasonic HDC-SD60K

    • Canon Vixia HF R10
