Ok i'm gonna leave this one to the experts. I would like to know which card will give me the BEST bang for my buck. I'm not a hardcore gamer, I'm more of a video buff (BluRay). I'm looking to spend under $300.... lets keep the price as low as possible IF possible.

Here is what i got... please just suggest what you think would be the better way to go.

52" Toshiba Regza wth 3x HDMI inputs, etc, etc... (Full 1080p support)

ONKYO AV Receiver with 3 HDMI inputs (1080p support)

...Obviously i'd like to keep my picture @ 1080p.

Do i need a agp video card with HDMI output? If so which one supports this?

Or should i just use DVI cable (but isn't DVI 1080i only????)

Should i run the cable straight from my PC to the TV? or would it be the same if i had it go through the ONKYO receiver?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

  1. ATI and Nvidia are the best brands. if you motherboard support PCI-express and you can afford a graphic card with that bus go for it if not stay with AGP.

You can route the video cable from the pc to the reciever if the receiver does video upconversion (does the reciever have an HDMI monitor output?) if not go directly to the tv.

DVI its just the interface the card is the one that do the 1080p

remember that the card is not the only thing you need a high performance video card need processing power and memory specially if you're planning on watching blu-ray and/or making an HTPC.
