I have found that Hotpoint First Edition to be a good one, also Hover makes are good, as well as Service, no i have not had all of these, but i do have the Hotpoint, and other family members have used the other ones and found them just fine, i would not recommend a Candy or others that are not to well known, Zanussi i know is also a good make as that was my last machine and that lasted for many years more than ten i would say ten plus years, hope that helps you.

I cannot say which brand name . check epinions.com for reports on washing machines. I prefer the front loading type. They use less water and soap and energy and I find they do a better job.
