Which way do you place fins on a wakeboard?

I personally, don't use the fins on my wakeboard.   I think it gives you more freedom if you want more control of the board.   However, there are two ways I know a lot of people use:

1) Just in the back.   This is more for beginners who need help getting up and keeping the board facing forward.  

2) On both sides, facing towards the outside.  This I guess you would say is for more advanced boarders who need the fins to cut through the water and give them the speed and control you have on skis.

you place them straight up and down so they dont sink or do somthing they dont want to do
