Which one is correct :

1. To write in a letter that

"We Dropped a message on your phone answering machine" or

"We left a message on your phone answering machine"?

Is it impolite to say "We dropped a message"?

2.

a) We'll inform you what the results would be

b)We will inform you what would be the results

I guess a) is correct , right?
