well there's a difference between geographical north and magnetic north. magnetic north is not the same thing!! it's actually 47 degrees to the right of geographical north when you're looking at a map!! quite interesting.

same with south.

what's even more interesting is that there is evidence that magnetic north switches poles! thus, someday, our compasses will tend to point to SOUTH!!
