i have cell phone right now. but its on my moms plan..the family plan. and i moved out and am using way over what she egts for the family plan..she refuses to get all the unlimted stuff b/c "its tooo expensive" so i went to the alltel agent near here and asked her how much it would be to drop off her plan adn get my own...and tis about 150$..BUT my bf said he'd help me get a new plan new phone all together...and id give my old phone to my little brother so HE can be in on the family plan instead..

So my two main questions are:

would it be cheaper to get a whole new plan instead of just branching off?

COULD i even get a new phone? i dont know how thw whole credit thing works.

I have to leave for work in an hour and half and id like some answers to review/think about while i am at work.

thanks

  1. Be really careful when you go in with somebody if their phone is shut off yours will be too.  You may also want to find out if your phone is still under contract because it would cost allot for your Mom as far as early termination fees.  I would try asking her for one unlimited thing at a time like texts. Maybe you can give her a little extra money a month.  I do not know how your credit would be yet I would try to work with her I think that would be cheaper.  You could say if you had unlimited texts you would probably use less minutes.

  2. It's most likely Family Plan is cheaper but it has limitation on how much you can use.  If you want the freedom on unlimited, and you are 18 + for credit check by service provider, and willing to pay your own bill, I see no problem of branching out on your own.  $150 monthly? that's expensive.  I have Sprint Sero plan, see below for detail:

I have Sprint Sero $60 access email & CID, email me for info.
