Which were closer? The Michael Spinks wins over Larry Holmes or the Jermaine Taylor wins over Bernard Hopkins?

All four fights were close and personally I thought the challengers Michael Spinks and Jermaine Taylor didn't do enough to take the belt away from the champions. Agree or Disagree.

  1. I agree with you completely, I always thought politics played a role in Spinks's wins over Larry, I think Holmes did enough to equal Marciano's record, but got robbed.

I also thought both Bernard Hopkins and Wink beat Jermain, But Taylor got all three decisions.

Then again I have never forgiven the judges for the Ray Leonard decision over Hagler,  the Chavez/Whitaker draw, the Trinidad win over DeLa Hoya or the flat out robbery of Dave Tiberi when he won every round over James Toney and they out right lied and gave Toney the win either.  At least with Oscar, when Sturm beat him, the corrupt judges evened the score and robbed Sturm in favor of Oscar.  Pernell couldn't catch a break, he won eight of 12 plus a knockdown against Oscar, and they still gave the fight to the GoldenBoy, talk about poor decisions, that one still stickes in my craw, it was worse than the draw they gave Holyfield with Lewis, Lennox clearly won, but the scorekeepers must have been watching a different fight that the one I saw.

There have always been questionable decisions in boxing, and there always will be, so long as human beings judge the fights.  Corruption is a part of life, and sometimes boxing is corrupt.
