  1. I live in the DC area and I wear a 3/2 from March through late October.  That's without booties or hood.  With some booties on that's usually enough for air temps down to the high 40s and low 50s with waters in the 50s.   I would get a 4/3 for the winter (air temps lower than about 45 with water temps in 50s) and just wear gloves/hood/booties and you'll probably be fine.

  2. Mmm i bought an oneil mutant 4/3 for the 07 winter and it was pretty worth it when it gets wet it adds a couple of pounds but i could still move freely but with a thicker wet suit i think id be a little slower and slugish but nice and toasty, so i think it would depend on what your willing to sacrifice warmness or movement

  3. Depends on your tolerance to cold.  If the water get's into the 50's, I would consider a 5/4 especially if it gets into the lower 50's or colder.  a 5/4 is thicker than a 4/3 (in millimeters).  Generally, the thicker the wetsuit, the warmer it is but the more 'stiff' it is.  I'm on the west coast where the water never really gets colder than upper 50's usually and I use a 4/3 during the winter.
