1. The last one since she outlasted him

  2. Anne Boleyn,

She is my favourite wife of Henry VIII and I think she had a good personalty, But I would not like to have had my head chopped off!

  3. I would hate to be any of his wives, on account or having to be married to Henry, which would be a depressing prospect for any woman. personality wise I don't think I am like any of them really.

  4. Catherine of Aragon.

She got a handsome divorce settlement.

  5. I'm more like a Catherine of Aragon

  6. It's got to be Katherine of Aragon.

I enjoyed over twenty years of marriage with a young, handsome prince, and it was only when I got too old to give him hope for a son that he turned against me. I did get pregnant many times, but no child survived apart from my little Mary. Even though I was banished to damp castles to live out the rest of my life, and was not allowed to see my daughter, at least I did die of natural causes.

I did not have to go through the pain of false accusations - or even true ones - and have to face the block. I also was not divorced to spend the rest of my life in single bliss. And I did not marry my dear old love to die shortly afterwards in childbirth.

I stuck with my beliefs to the end, having had many good years.

  7. I always felt that Anne of Cleaves outsmarted Henry VIII when he would not honor their marriage. She agreed to an annulment very quickly and remained in England for the rest of her life. Henry was grateful for her cooperation and granted her a generous income and several homes, including Hever Castle. Anne enjoyed an independent lifestyle denied most women, often visiting Henry's court as an honored guest. Her fondness for English ale and gambling were her only vices.

    best of luck to you!

  8. Catherine, not only did she survive, but she was the only one he was validly married to.

  9. Katherine Parr...she saw the old b@stard off!

  10. Catherine Parr because

---she reconciled Henry with his daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, before his death.

---she served as a regent while Henry went on his last unsuccessful campaign in France, successfully governing England in his absence.

---Following Henry's death, she married an old love, Thomas Seymour, and at age 35 gave birth to her only child, a daughter.

---she was famed for her good sense, moral rectitude, and loyalty; moreover, she was a survivor!

  11. Anne Boleyn. We are stubborn, determined, strong-willed, and fierce tempered. Anne Boleyn was not afraid to speak her mind, and she showed her anger towards Henry's escapades regardless if they were in their private chambers or in front of an audience. When my boyfriend pissed me off, I would let him know immediately without hiding a hint of anger inside until we are alone.

Anne Boleyn was a very powerful woman, and she literally has the entire court in her gripe where she was fully in control, and I feel the same with my life and my personal relationships. No one has any control over me and no one can tell me what I can or cannot do with regards on how to live my life.

  12. My choice is Anne of Cleves because as Henry VIII would have nothing to do with her, she stood less chance of contracting syphilis than the others. At the end of her ordeal of being married to Henry she was given a property (formerly in the possession of poor Anne Boleyn's family) and treated as the King's "sister".

  13. I'd be whichever one didn't get beheaded. I'm not picky as long as I have my head.

  14. Jane Seymour, I think.

She might have been portrayed by many historians as being meek and mild, but I think there was more to her than met the eye - and we shall never really know, because she died before her time.

She gave Henry exactly what he had yearned for for so many years - a son. And she died shortly after childbirth. This meant that Henry kept her in mind as his beloved wife, and he had no time to get tired of her or to trump up charges against her had she failed to give him another son as a spare.

She was buried in St George's Chapel in Windsor, and Henry was laid to rest with her when he eventually died.

I think I'd rather have a shorter, sweeter life (even though Henry was rather terse with her at times), than face the terrors of the axe or sword just because I couldn't give him what he wanted.

And her family lived on... the little King, Thomas and Edward Seymour...
