Those are my two options, because I am about to clean the carpet, but I don't feel like going out to buy anything else, so which would work better?

  1. Definitely wouldn't use the pine sol.  Between those two options, I'd go with Oxyclean, but be sure to test it on your carpet in an out of sight area to be sure it doesn't mess with the color.

  2. Both of these are good cleaners, but I wouldn't recommend either for your carpet. Pine-sol only recommends using it on hard, non-porous surfaces. You might try adding a little Oxyclean to a detergent, but you'll have to rinse and it may fade your carpet. I think you'd be better off going to buy a carpet shampoo to clean with, so that your carpet doesn't fade or otherwise get damaged. Good luck!

  3. I wouldn't use pine sol, it has oil in it & you wouldn't get it all out of the carpet. I have used oxiclean powder in my machine & it works great. Use 1 scoop per container of hot water with your carpet shampoo, make sure it dissolves completely or it'll clog your machine. Maybe premix it before adding.  I have med. beige carpet & it doesn't fade it, but it does get out alot of dirt.

  4. I wouldn't use either.

Try Capture, you can get it at Home Depot.
