  1. The colder the air you can get into the engine the better the performance you will have. But keep in mind the cold air intakes are close to the ground and exposed to the elements. So make sure you clean the air filter as needed. Also be careful of rain/water, if you suck enough water into your engine it will hydro-lock. I would spend the extra money and get a k&n setup.

  2. Short ram intake will boost high rpm power much more than a air cleaner!

  3. Neither.  Both are just eye candy.  Save your money for more serious performance upgrades.

External bolt ons are a waste of money.  You have to go inside the engine to make any real power.

Consider new camshafts, pistions, balance and blueprint, cylinder head porting, high performance intake manifold, headers, etc.

Sounds to me like you made the wrong choice buying a little 4 cylinder.  If you want some serious performance, sell it ang get something with a V8.  Then you will have something to start with.

  4. Well the short ram intake will give you better low end power definately but the cold air will give you better all around performance. If you drive around the city a lot get the short ram intake but if not go with the CAI, oh yea Mad Jack is an idiot there are sum 4 cylinders you can get over 1000 horses with. Dont listen to him
