  1. If thermal expansion of the ocean means increasing temperatures over larger areas of the ocean, then melting of polar ice (Greenland too) will have a much larger impact on sea level.

However, if one were to consider the impacts to an average increase of ocean temperature of 5 to 10 degrees F then that should be a larger global impact becuase of changing climates.  One could see tropical cyclones making it all the way across the north Atlantic affecting northern Europe, for example.

  2. Of course. Water does tend to "seep it's own level." <}:-})

It also, has an impact on the earth.

It was reported on the National news.

The North Pole is now, 12 miles, from it's former site.

So, you may have some more homework to do. <}:-})

  3. The impact wil be with uncontrolled surface wind which tamper atmospheric weather.

  4. Melting will have a much greater impact.  Thermal expansion of water will be negligible in the temperature ranges being predicted.  Raising water temperature from  just above the freezing point to just below the boiling point is measurable but very very small.  Nobody is predicting more then a few degrees change in the average sea water temperature (I think 5 degree C is the biggest I've seen in a worst case scenario.)

  5. Melting of the poles and Greenland.

  6. the volume change due to warming will be trivial compared to the volume change due to melting of ice.  Not negligible, but small.

  7. Yes. The hole in the Ozone that we have managed to create has resulted in Global warming & the melting of the Arctic, the glaciers melt & bring about the rising sea levels. Added to this is the rising temperatures of the sea waters which again results in further rising of the water levels. You are already witnessing the effects of this Global Climate changes - the flooding of Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, China & india. not to mention Iowa.

Soon half of the islands of Indonesia, including Java, will be wiped off the World map.
