Which would You prefer? An Olympus Stylus 1010 or the Nikon Coolpix S550? Which one is better quality?

The Olympus Stylus 1010 has 7x optical zom and 10.1 mega pixels along with 27 different shooting modes.

The Nikon Coolpix S550 has 10 mega pixels and only 5x optical zoom.

Which do you think has better all around physical quality?

Go with the Olympus. You'll be happy you have the extra optical zoom.

I'm a professional photographer and I've been using Olympus (and Canon) cameras for the majority of my career, and I've never had a problem with any of my Olympus cameras. They have excellent image quality and are very sturdy.

I have even dropped one of my old Olympus cameras a few times, and it still works like new.

The Olympus 1010 has better reviews out on it. Have ever considered other cameras like the Canon powershot lines or the Panasonic TZ5, I would look into all those and read the reviews before making a final decision. Definitely the 1010 over any Nikon.
