  1. definetly a red eared slider they are veary beautifle

  2. A musk turtle will be smaller. But red ear sliders are better pets. They are so much more entertaining. They are full of energy and very active turtles. And so much more colorful. And as for whi9ch is easier, I would say a red ear slider.

    Hope this helps!

  3. i love my baby musk and the dont get that big 4 in at most and res can get to be up to a foot

  4. Slider, but I'd get a box turtle.. wait never mind I have 27 of them but you can get one.. :D

  5. Well I've always wanted a musk turtle, my friend has one.

    I have four sliders.

I think they'd both be fine so it depends on what you want.

A slider is more active I guess, musk's aren't lazy, they just don't swim that fast. Sliders are bigger and will need a bigger tank (much much bigger) I'm not sure which is dirtier but my sliders are pretty messy.A slider may also be more interactive, they will eat from your fingers and notice when you come close, which they respond to either by jumping in the water to get away or jumping in the water to maybe get fed.

I love my slider but I think musks would be alot less maintainence so if thats what you I'd say pick them.

Also realize that sliders are alot bigger than a musk, then can be 12 inches long, one of mine is around ten, and the average one in a pet store will be five or six. I've never heard of any type of north american musk getting more than four inchs, although I'm sure there must be a "whopping" five incher somewhere.

And my last side note is that if you want something like a slider but not so big you might want a painted turtle, southerns are the smallest, I have an eastern and a western. My eastern I've had for about twelve years and he is a four and a half inches. Keep in mind that in sliders and painted the males are smaller and you can tell a male by the significantly longer front claws.
