I Would Go With Nintendo DS On The Count Cuz It Has Real Inactive Games. I Cant Remember The Name Of That One Game But It Help Exercises Your Brain And Knowledges. I Thought Was A Pretty Cool. Game. Plus It Has The WORLD Famous Games, Super Mario Bros. And Zelda. Cant Top That.

Nintendo DS is more geared towards younger children. They have many child-friendly games, including quite a selection of educational (brain) games.

My 5 year old has a DS lite. I really like it because you can play 2 different times of games which makes it easier to find inexpensive games. He's been able to pick up on the games he has gotten so far and they have several that are age appropriate.

i would get him the ds. my reason is because the ds is engineered by nintendo. and alot of nintendo's games are made for a younger audience. also it is easier to use. i have a psp myself and it has so many weird features on it i don't even know how to use them all. i believe he would enjoy the ds more.
