Question:

Which would be better for me: dog or cat?

I'm wondering if a cat or dog would be better for my family. We love dogs to pieces but perhaps a cat would be better, especially the Russian Blue.

My parents are a little picky about it shedding alot, and they don't want something that will cost $1,000 .

I go out walking with my friends and their dogs everyday, but when I'm home I'm pretty lazy and like to read, watch TV, computer, etc.

What do you guys think? Cat or dog?

  1. I would say a dog. You can get one from the humane society! You can adopt save a dog's life! Dogs can sit and cuddle with you and then you can go walk your dog with your friends! Personally, cats always seem to be moody and don't like to spend a ton of time with its owner.

All of these dogs don't shed or shed very little!

    Australian Terrier

    Basenji

    Bichon Frise

    Boston Terrier

    Bouvier des Flandres

    Cairn Terrier

    Chinese Crested

    Havanese

    Kerry Blue Terrier

    Maltese

    Miniature Schnauzer

  2. How about a goldfish! They take up very little of your time and die long before you get sick of them.

  3. From the sounds of your hobbies I think that a cat would be a better fit for you. Dogs are more responsibility because they have to be walked regularly and often do more damage to furniture than cats and require a  more training. Dogs make really good companions but if your more low maintanance a cat would be better for you. Cats are often cheapers than dogs also.

  4. Its a hard question to answer. I have 2 black labs and they are my loves. But they require lots of attention and they have to run and go for walks at least once a day. A cat sounds like it might be more better for you since you like to be lazy at home. They have short hair cats that dont shed too much. You just of course have to clean a litter box and vacuum every couple days. I am a neat freak so I vacuum everyday. You can go to the spca and see if there are any kittens or cats that are in your price range.

    Good luck!

  5. i think a small dog a very small dog.

  6. well thats hard. dogs and cats both shed, except for a few breeds. but thats going to be a problem with any animal, that there going to shed. i have a cat, and two dogs. and i personally like the dogs better. there both small dogs, so that might be why i like them. they will play constantly, but also very lazy at times too. it really depends on what mood your in. if you want to go outside and play, they will play. but if your tired and want to sit in and watch tv, they will snuggle next to you. there both small dogs, one is a maltese. and the other is a malchi, (maltese-chiauwa mix)

AND THE FIRST PERSON UP THERE THAT LISTED ALL THE DOGS, THAT IS SO NOT TRUE. I HAVE BEEN AROUND AT LEAST HALF OF THOSE DOGS AND THEY ALL WILL SHED!
