ie.) I have a college football forum site, www.thesackshack.com. I just recently got my blog going (and am starting to get hits on it).

The blog is located at www.ncaafootballtalk.com.

Would it be more beneficial to gaining Page Rank power for my main site to switch the blog back to www.thesackshack.com/blog?

  1. To keep your traffic locally, i suggest you to use http://blog.thesackshack.com .

You also must have a lot of links between the blog an the site...

For example, if you are writing a blog article, about new equipment that the team has, and on the main site, you have a page about "team's equipment", you can link the "new equipment" string to the page mentioned above.

Good Luck with your site and blog!

  2. I second eugen - having the blog within thesackshack.com means that you build up more pages and content for that particular domain. It'll also be easier to reference other sections on thesackshack within the blog when they're on the same domain, too.

  3. You should keep the blog on your main site, at least that's my opinion from personal experience.

Also, don't waste your time chasing after Google Page Rank. Sure, it's helpful in some capacities, but high Page Rank doesn't necessarily mean high rankings in Google.
