  1. grey wolf

  2. The grey wolf, it's bigger and stronger.

  3. The grey wolf its more aggressive !!

  4. I would say the wolf.

  5. the grey wolf

  6. If it was Wil.e.Coyote --then the wolf would not stand a chance--especially with the ACME catalogue in Wil.e' pocket .

  7. They gray wolf, easy, hands down.  Fact is there is some film footage of a male coyote being killed by at first one wolf, then a couple more.  It is rather dramatic film with audio.  So, if you one of the many weak squeamish folks, don't watch it. It was one of those wildlife documentaries shown on PBS about the Yellowstone wolfs.  Wolfs will only tolerate coyote if there is plenty of food and the wolf pups are weaned.

Edit: Folks I know this is gonna seem a bit picky to most of you, but.  The correct common name is gray wolf, not grey, but gray.  You see if I wrote an article for publication, sent it in for review,  I would get a red line through the word "grey" and the person reviewing my paper would wonder why I made such a mistake.  Cause I am a professional and as such I must use the proper correct and scientific names.

  8. The grey wolf.

  9. The grey wolf, without question. The maximum size of a grey wolf is 175lb, compared to only around 35lb for a coyote - wolves are larger, faster and stronger, and there are many documented cases of them killing coyotes.

Jim, as a professional you should know that the 'proper and correct' scientific name of the wolf under discussion is neither grey wolf nor gray wolf, but Canis lupus (and also that the plural of wolf is 'wolves', not 'wolfs'). As for the common name, both grey and gray are acceptable on a site like this one which is visited by English speakers from all over the world - it's the same word and the same colour. It's just that in the UK 'grey' is the correct spelling (so if you wrote your article here and used 'gray' you would be considered incorrect), whilst in the US 'gray' is the correct spelling.
