Which would win in a race? A Manual 99 Honda Prelude SH or a automatic 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST?

It would all depend on what type of race you are talking about, 0-60? 1/4 mile? around a track? on the highway from a 40mph roll? I bet you would have different answers depending on what type of race it was.

I believe that the Prelude has a quicker 0-60mph time than the Eclipse, but both would pretty much even out by the quarter mile.  The Prelude SH in my opinion would handle slightly better through the corners than the Eclipse.

Overall, I would put my money on the Prelude, and it in my opinion is a much better buy than the Eclipse GST whether its auto or manual.

I have doubts about Eclipse in Auto winning, but if the contender would be replaced by Tesla Roadster, then the battle will be a tighter one!

I would have to say that the Prelude would win only cause its VTEC! Eclipse have a reputation for having turbo lag... when VTEC engine kicks... it goes!! I believe that the Eclipse is a little heavier also so you have to take that into consideration too. It would be a good race!

0-60 prelude may be a bit quicker.

highway exit to exit race i got my money on the eclipse. both very close 200Hp- 210 not much of a difference and thats offset by the weight
