hand? Or a restaurant like Friday's, and Chili's, where you get your money's worth? Me? Friday's, Chili's, Ruby Tuesday's places like that! ( ^ _ ^ ) If you're going to eat out? You might as well make it worth your while! Enjoy your food!

  1. Applebee's or IHOP respectfully!

  2. I prefer the best of both worlds. I like comfort foods (which you usually get at franchise resturaunts like Chili's and such), but made with high-quality ingredients. It makes me feel horrible when I go to a resturaunt and wonder how unhealthy and unnatural my food is. A lot of chain resturaunts use salt to add "flavor" to foods instead of using fresh herbs and spices.  I do not like the cheap all-you-can eat buffets mainly because there's no telling what kind of quality food you're getting- they have to do something to keep the prices down.

I have yet to find a resturaunt that does this, so I don't really enjoy going out to eat much...lol.

  3. Friday's and BBQ's. Hubby took me to Tavern on The Green in NYC and I left there wanting to kill the artist ha(chef.) thought he did something good. Well he pissed me off. My whole plate looked like my son would have eaten it and said thanks for the snack.lol. I need food that will stick to the ribs sometimes.lol.

    woot woot

  4. You're probably not going to like my answer but I would much rather eat in the upscale restaurant.  Not that I can afford to, but I have been lucky enough to have eaten in one or two.  I remember the portion sizes being more what they should be.  Not excessive but not really tiny either.  I didn't leave hungry.

The difference in flavor between an upscale restaurant and one of those franchises is comparable to juicy T-bone steak vs. a dried out hamburger patty.  There's just no comparison.

Unfortunately, I'm relegated to eating at the franchises for the most part.   But if I had a choice ....................  : )

  5. I'm a southern gal who likes good, fresh food prepared simply and well. And over the years, I've learned to eat exactly the amount that makes me comfortably full and not a bite more. If I go to Applebee's or Chili's, odds are good that I will be taking home most of my meal in a doggie bag.

However, that doesn't mean I'm a fan of trendy restaurants that serve three beluga eggs and a cube of pickled radish on half a leaf of argula and call it a meal. Then they have the nerve to charge you a week's salary for it.

That's not haute cusine. . .that's pretense with a side order of extortion.

  6. So many people believe that big portions are always better.  I guess that's why there are so many obese people in this country.

I would definitely prefer a correct portion of something that is good than a big heaping portion of something I wasn't too entirely fond of in the first place.

  7. I never eat at either up scale places or chains....I go for a (UK) pub meal. Reasonably priced, decent food in a relaxed atmosphere

  8. are you sure this is not about money? Go to an upscale steakhouse and eat 3 courses.

  9. I love Ruby Tuesdays or better yet Olive Garden. I like to go to a place, eat and get a doggy bag for later.
