I think I prefer to learn language/culture from someone who is native speaker and have a solid background of thier original country even when I was beginners. I was faked once when I learnt korean who actually was a chinese. Has anyone had any experience like this?

  1. i agree with you, it is better to be taught by a native of a country rather than a book or a professor.

  2. Me too but as long as I learned it I would be happy :)

  3. lol

Thats given me an idea, I might start teaching German, French, Russian, Chinese and Spanish but really be teaching them English rofl :)

  4. If you want the ability to get around in another country, then it is enough to learn from anyone who has the teaching ability.  But if you really want to learn a language, you have to immerse yourself in the culture.  This is because language and culture are intimately linked, and there are going to be things that don't directly translate.  So it is a better choice to learn from the native speaker (as long as they have teaching ability).

  5. A good teach is a good teacher - regardless of their language or cultural background.

  6. I don't really care, as long as he/she has the formal training, and possibly lived in that country.
