  1. a bear u play dead will go away, with lion haha i think my chances are more likely to get attacked!

  2. Neither. Haha, but seriously I would say a mountain lion would be somewhat easier to fend off. Mountain lions usually don't like prey that can fight. A bear is larger and I would imagine much harder to fend off. When a mountain lion attacks it is suggested that you fight back especially hitting it in the nose or eyes. If the animal isn't starving it will usually back off. The scary things about mountain lions is that they prefer to stalk so sometimes it will attack before you realize it is there. But a direct eye to eye encounter, appearing large and threatening will sometimes ward the cat off.

A bear, it would depend on the species. But with most bears they get upset when you scare them or come near their cubs. Sometimes they bluff with their attacks and just want you to move out of their area. But their sheer strength when they attack is a horribly scary factor. Playing dead is only suggested by most with grizzlies and not black bears. Grizzlies are more territorial than black bears and once it realizes that you are not a threat and you don't fight back then in most cases it will leave. Black bears usually run from humans but when one attacks, more than likely it is a predatory attack. The only viable option I can think of is to fight back because "playing dead" will not stop a hungry animal. Show it that you are going to make it fight for its food and it could second guess its decision.

  3. a bear.It just takes one shot from a r700.I would have a hard time killing a lion because all felines have 9 lives. Not to mention r700 can hold 4 bullets and bolt action meaning it takes 5 seconds to remove the safety lock auto eject the shell and ram back the rod and lock on the safety lock.

  4. probably a bear although the both are so so scary to face

anyway if I faced a bear i will play dead and cover my face with my hand's and stay still without moving so the bear will think that I'm dead and it will lose interest in me and go away

  5. probably a) a bear

  6. i wud say bear cuz not all bears r crazy

    and all lions are

  7. i'd rather come across neither...

you see, mountain lions are the top predators of the western countries.when coming across a mountain lion, one could simply stand still.the mountain lion can somewhat sense a feeling of fear or prey nearby so they tend to catch a running prey.NEVER run when you come across one.they could simply outrun you.

but in the bear's part, the bear won't attack unless threatened.they usually attack when thay have their offspring with them and someone appraoches them.simply, they attack when their instincts tells them to.they do this when there is an upcoming predator or danger.they could kill with one slash and a simple crushing "hug".

so i won't allow myself near one.they are very dangerous animals WHEN PROVOKED.

remember:no animal atacks uless its instincts tells it to....

  8. Whichever one doesn't have babies around!!!

But probably the mountain lion. If you make yourself big and loud they will mostly leave you alone-just slowly move away from them. But the bear is more likely to take anything you do as a challenge and attack.

    If you see a bear:

depends on the location and situation. Get big and make noise if you are in a developed area and/or with other people. Stay still and avoid threatening movements if you are alone in the wild. If necessary, curl into a ball and cover your head and neck:

If you see a mountain lion:

Make yourself big and loud while slowly moving away from the animal, keeping it in your sight. Stay together if in a group, especially children.

Bears are more unpredictable then mountain lions. While both usually avoid humans, a direct bear encounter can be more dangerous, especially if you are alone.
