Which would you recomend, Kodak easyshare Z812 IS or the Canon SX100 IS

  1. Comparing them on dpreview.com, the Kodak has a slightly better optical zoom and better continuous drive.

    I'd give points to the Canon for having a manual white balance setting, but maybe the Kodak does, too.  I'd also give points to the Canon for having a longer minimum shutter time and minimum focusing distance in macro mode.

    You might want to check Kodak's site (manual may be available there) about custom white balance and make sure that it support SDHC cards or you're going to be very limited by not being able to use the high capacity cards.

    Other than that, they're pretty similar in the specifications that are listed on dpreview.com.  Both have aperture and shutter priority, neither support RAW mode.

    From what I've read on dpreview.com, though, I'd have to give a slight edge to the Canon.
