I am looking to give my tank a little brightness and a little excitement. Neon tetras are bright but aren't that active. I heard corydoras are very playful and active, but they aren't that colorful. So if i had to choose one, which one do you think i should get.

PS: I know they are schooling fish and i plan to get a least 4.

  1. I love neons but you have to go with what you really desire. Color or activity.

  2. get cardinal tetras...very beautiful colorful and active...and no less than 5...and neons are very active fish unless kept in small aquarium..in a 30 gallon long tank they will be very active...also depends if you have bottom feeders then dont get corys...tetras are usually middle and top dwellers..

  3. personally, i think you should get some galaxy rasbora

  4. get guppies I have 12 I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. The Cory cats they are much more fun to watch.  Neon's just look pretty and swim around The Cory cats are lots of fun to watch intact with each-other.  Corys also will help keep the bottom of the tank clean.

  6. Both are schooling fish so it does depend on what you want. If you dont have any bottom dwellers go with the cory's they are fun to watch in schools.

  7. Go with the neon's, they are just as playful as the corydoras and prettier  too. I know this from experience

  8. I would go for the corydoras. They are more active and playful and also a great bottom feeder. There are also many different types of corydoras you can choose from. Neon tetras chase each other sometimes, they aren't as interesting to look at.

  9. I'd go with the corys...they are bottom feeders so they will clean the tank of residue, they look awesome too. Mini sharks!

Hey but why not get 2 of each??
