  1. In 1994 were mobile services launched in Uttar Pradesh India


  2. somewhere in 1996. it was started by two companies in western UP - Escotel & Usha.

    Usha was closed down after sometime but Escotel kept on providing services, and was taken over by Idea!.

    Now a days Vodafone, Airtel, BSNL, Reliance, Idea, Spice etc. are providing mobile services in UP
