Please don't sing a Miley Cyrus song, that will kill you.

Sing a Kristin Chenoweth song. She's a respected Broadway actress, and her songs require some acting and a good voice. A good one would be Popular from Wicked.

You could also try more classic songs like Somewhere over the Rainbow or My Own Little Corner. There are endless possibilities when you look into the older musicals. If you have a good soprano voice, go for a song from The Phantom of the Opera (Think of Me is a beautiful one)! The classics are never frowned upon by thespians, but country-pop surely will be.

Don't even think of doing a Miley Cyrus song for drama club. If you want to do a Disney song, try something from the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast. "Home" is an amazing song. :)

i think it depends what your voice type is like, if you have a strong or soft voice or if u are soprano, alto,  etc.

some good songs to choose would be songs from actual musicals,

little shop o horrors, chicago, wicked, legally blonde, blood brothers, little mermaid, thoroughly modern millie, spring awakening, chorus line, tons of songs to choose from. let me know

Drama Club will laugh at you if you sing Miley Cyrus.  Sing something from a Broadway Show.

What is your vocal range?  Are you soprano, mezzo, alto...?  What shows are you familiar with?  Sing a song in your vocal range that you really like.
