  1. yes is its got ANPR automatic number plate recognition system it cross references your insurance details in seconds from its on board computer, it also check MOT Car tax VED and registered keeper details

  2. In the UK The Police National Computer (PNC) stores the insurance details on all UK registered vehicles.

It can tell which company insures, what the cover is and who is covered to drive it.

This takes less than 10 seconds to access.

    So yes is the answer.

It also shows if the vehicle is an insurance write off, if the vehicle is stolen and if the vehicle is wanted in connection with crime.

  3. The police have access to:-

The DVLA Driver database - for licence checks

The Motor Insurance Database - for insurance checks (company, type of policy, named drivers etc)

The DVLA Road Tax database - to see if it's taxed

The DVLA MOT Database - to check you have one.

They can find out everything they need to know about you and your documentation and WILL HAVE before they stop you.

Simple answer is to remember this when/if you are stopped.

  5. when you take out insurance, the companies log it on the motor insurance database. the t5's do have a system in their vehicles which bleeps if a car passes without a valid insurance, mot or tax. the police then pull you for further investigation. on the MID, the reg no, class of use, and persons entitled to drive are recorded. im sure you need a license from the council to be a mini cab which must be displayed on the vehicle.

  6. Hello

    Yes

    Andy

  7. A police car can't tell if a car has insurance or not, no matter what type it is.

  8. If you are in the uk yes, definitely

  9. If in the UK, yes, the police have access to the national insurance database, they would have to radu=io in for a check whilst tailing you to get the answer though.
