It sounds like paraphimosis (nothing life threatening, dont freak out...)  This can be cause by pulling the f******n back during bathing or intercourse and not being put back.  Just remember to carefully clean and put back the f******n when your done.  Antibiotics and warms soaks often will fix this.  If this doesn't help, you may require a circumcision.
