While paying tax online I've mistakenly selected assessment yr as 2007-08 instead of 2008-09,what should i do?

See if you can contact your bank online or otherwise and revise your tax payment year.

If you cannot revise your tax payment year in anyway, send a letter to your assessing officer stating that wrong year was selected at the time of tax payment online and get an acknowledgement stamp on the same. This will provide you immunity from any problem which may arise afterwards.

File a revised return.  Prepare a fresh revised return(not online) and file it with your jurisdictional office along with a covering letter stating the nature of error and obtain an acknowledgment.
