  1. Yes, this is called counter-check.

  2. yes

  3. Not sure exactly what you mean by that.

However, what I will tell you is that when you are in check, you must make a move that takes you out of check.  If you make your move, and you are no longer in check, it is a valid move.  If you move, and you're still in check, it is not a valid move.  Hope this answers your question.  If not, please describe the situation in greater detail.

  4. yeah

  5. Yes. But you won't be able to move that piece again ( unless you remove your king or something, to avoid being checked yourself when you remove the blocker ).

  6. It souinds like an excellent move!  It is definitely legal.  And it is a good move because it accomplishes two things instead of just one which is always a good thing.  It blocks defensively and it also attacks.  very nice!

  7. Yes, if I understand your question.

If he was in check, and nobody noticed, you are supposed  to go back to when it occurred, not block it.

If you are in check, but you block it and the blocking piece puts your opponent in check, that is OK.  He has to get out of check, possibly by capturing that blocking piece putting him in check...

  8. The whole point of the game is to get your opponet's king into checkmate, and yes that do seem legal.
