  1. That used to happen to me years ago when I was stressed out at my job. I did use the talcum powder, but I also trained myself to realise the real problem. Stress from outside was affecting my game. I would miss shots as well. Eventually when I made the mental connection that I couldn't do anything while not at work, I stopped sweating and my game also improved. You need to RELAX.

  2. Powder or chalk will work but it can be messy...some people leave white marks all over the table.   Make sure your shaft is clean because the buildup of grunge makes it drag more on sweaty skin...house cues are typically filthy so always clean them before playing.   Use some shaft paper (not sandpaper) or some other specially-made abrasive to reduce/remove the impervious varnish layer on a new shaft.   Try to keep your bridge hand clean and don't use it to pick up your drink or food.   Keep your bridge hand free between innings...don't spend your waiting time with it gripped around your stick.   You might dust the shaft of your cue with the chalkboard eraser from time to time.   An open bridge with the skin held taut will drag less than a closed bridge.  If you're heavy, losing weight and physical conditioning will make you sweat less.   If all else fails, try the glove again...once you get used to wearing one, it won't distract your attention.  Just make sure to wash it often because they get dirty fast and they're more effective when they're clean.

  3. How about the white pool chalk or baby powder, they both work great.

  4. Just rub a little bit of the chalk on you hand, or get a different cue i used to have that problem then got a cue with a different finish on it and it stopped happening

  5. Dust your hands with baby powder.  It absorbes the sweat.
