Question:

While reading mails sent to my yahoogroups, i can't read the complete email ids. what i can see is abc@.....

This aplies to the email ids of the sender as well as the email ids mentioned in the mails. Also i can't see any attachments.

  1. The following may be the reason:

    "Whenever a page containing your email address is displayed to other members or made "public" to non-members, we mask your address to prevent mass harvesting. For example, if your email address is "joe@xyfoobar.com," we display "joe@x..." However, in most cases, the owner and moderators of your group can see your email address (it won’t be masked for them as they often need to see member addresses to manage the group). "

When the messages show up on the groups' pages it only shows a partial address at the top of the message for both parties.  But if someone needs to send a message to the other person there's a section to the right of the message where one can click that says "Send Message" and then above that you can see the full id of the person who is sending the message.

    As for the issue of attachments Yahoo Groups changed that feature about a year or two ago so that when messages get archived the attachments can't be included (even if attachments are allowed to be sent to group members).  They had to do this because of frequent issues with viruses.

  3. the reasons why memebrs cant see it past the @ is due to prevention of spammers obtaining addreses for more spam. they cant see past the @ in the members list either, only owners can
