While vacationing in Italy, I left something in my hotel room. How should I go about getting it back?

I contacted the Hotel and they said they personally could not ship it to me, but recommended that I go to fedex, ups, or dhl. Well, a friend tried to set up pick-up from ups through the company he works with, but that didn't work out. Ups said they needed a special permit to do that? And I went on the websites for fedex and dhl and they weren't helpful at all. The mostly wanted me to just sign up for the service and there wasn't an email address that I could email with my questions. How can I get this thing back? Also, how much will it cost. It's a stuffed animal, so it does not weigh a lot.

  1. forget it  -

  2. If you have any friends or relatives in Italy have them send it to you , otherwise it wouldn't be worth for you to go to all the trouble of having the hotel send it to you..Too much trouble and money!!

  3. i live near milan, contact me and let's see what we can do

    jgs@libero.it

  4. I'll get it for you-what city do you live in?

  5. I think it depends on what the something is.  It has to be something obviously legal and easy to verify (not wrapped or potentially could have something else illegal or bad hidden inside).

If it is obviously legal and easy to verify so, then you need an understanding hotel employee.  That person will have to mail it back to you.  You may have to send prepackaging box or money.

However, if they are nice, they may just mail it to you for free.  So you can say nice thing to others about that hotel.

Most of it depends on your luck.

    So best of luck!

  6. Go to your local FedEx office.  Ask for a manager to guide on how to do this.
