  1. yahoo doesn't list in the directory adult groups or closed groups. this change occured about 2 years ago

You must know the exact URL of a specific Yahoo Adult group in order to find it.  Yahoo does this to protect youngsters from viewing "naughty" adult content that some of the the adult groups might have on their sites.  It also protects owners of adult groups from being hassled by parents who find their kids viewing what they feel is offensive.
