Whipphound expected to win Beefeater Handicap (Div I)
Whipphound has a solid chance of winning the Beefeater Handicap (Div I) at Chester in England on Saturday, May 26, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will be awarded a cash prize of £4,043.
The going will be good in the 6 furlong 18 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 17:45 GMT. A total of 12 runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: Waking Warrior, Crew Cut, Whipphound, Legal Eagle, Green Park, Vizean, One
Way Or Another, Spanish Acclaim, Jack Smudge, Deliberation, Rutterkin and Absa Lutte.
Out of the above mentioned runners, One Way Or Another and Crew Cut might not take part in the race.
Although the competition is expected to be strong in the race, Whipphound is carrying very good momentum at the moment and will be one of the top contenders for victory. He does not have much experience compared to some of his rivals, but has improved
a lot in recent times.
The four-year-old gelding has taken part in 26 events until now, winning a couple of them. In addition to that, he has finished runner up and third on the same number of times, which shows that he has the potential to fight for top positions.
In his most recent outing, Whipphound really well, but he failed to finish on top of the table. He was not rated as the favourite to win and was up against some very good runners. However, he showed very good speed and ended up in third place.
The Mark Brisbourne’s trainee is carrying a decent momentum at the moment and will definitely cause a few problems for his rivals in the race at Chester. He will be partnered by Jack Duern, who might not be fully confident because of his lacklustre
performances in recent times. However, he has the ability to bounce back strongly.
On the other hand, Green Park will not make life easy for his rivals, as he has got plenty of experience in the sport. He has participated in 103 events until now, winning 11 of them and finishing runner up on 10 occasions. Moreover, he has also secured
the third spot on 11 times, which shows that he is fully capable of giving a hard time to Whipphound.
