oh great. I have a whipping cream and I don't know what to do with it. I wanna eat some fruits with it. But I don't actually know how to whip it. And oh, the box is already open and has been in our fridge for almost 2 weeks. It already yellowish and bubbly. Is it still safe to eat it? please answer ASAP or the whipping cream might expire :(

  1. just put it in a blender and whip it....and if its not too sweet you might wanna add some sugar =D

  2. If it is yellow already, then it has spoiled. I would  toss it.

Otherwise, you would need to make sure that it is really cold and whip it using a mixer or hand whipping (takes awhile by hand).

  3. I don't know if it is still good or not. But take an electric beater and beat it for a long time until it has stiff peaks and gradually add powdered or regular sugar. taste it to see if its spoiled (or smell).

  4. If it smells off, don't eat it.  Just pitch it out.

The only thing I can add to the good advice above is, don't over-whip it, otherwise you end up with butter.

  5. As long as it doesn't smell sour, it's good to go. I've found whipping cream stays good for a LONG time...

Whip it with your electric mixer, add a teaspoon of vanilla and enough powdered sugar to taste... beat until it is firm. Depending how heavy the cream is, it may or may not make stiff peaks. The heavier, the more firm it will be...

  6. H'mm, yellowish and bubbly?  Smell it.  If it smells off, don't use it for whipped cream.  It probably wouldn't harm you to eat it but it wouldn't taste very good.  Either throw it out or use it (soon!) in something baked -- cake, muffins, etc.

As to how to whip it:  Yes, you can beat it by hand with a whisk or egg-beater, but I really recommend some kind of electric mixer if you have it.  This could be a stand mixer, a hand-held mixer, or possibly even an immersion-style hand-held blender.  This part is very important if your cream is to whip:  make sure your bowl and beaters are very cold before you begin; place them in the fridge for at least half an hour.

Start out slowly so the cream doesn't splatter all over the place, then pick up speed as the cream starts to thicken.  You will want to end up with cream that forms little peaks.  Be careful not to over-beat at this point -- you don't want to end up with butter!  Add a tablespoon or two of powdered sugar and you're ready to enjoy it over that fresh fruit you mention.

  7. well, what's in your fridge doesn't sound too good, but.. its easy to whisk whipping, or heavy cream into a nice whipped topping. use a pastry bag to pipe it onto your desserts. I don't recommend using a power mixer, as it will separate if you whip too fast too soon, and you'll be on your way to making butter. I can hand whisk a quart in less than a minute, but I'm a professional. I like my whipped cream unsweetened, but if you prefer, add a small bit of vanilla extract and confectioner's sugar (it isn't grainy, and the cornstarch in the confectioner's sugar will keep the whip from breaking down, and needing to be re-whisked)..

  8. holy c**p, throw it away.

  9. you take a beater and use that Electric works best... then once you have done that taste a lil... if it yellow its probably bad soooo i would just toss it and buy a new container

  10. i dont know if this box is safe to eat.... but if u wanna whip cream pour into a mixer and turn it on high... it will splatter a bit but after a minute it will start becoming whipped cream. take it out and enjoy

  11. You can beat it with beaters and it will fluff into whipped cream.  You can do it with a fork but it takes a lot longer.

I am not sure if it is still good...you should smell it and perhaps even taste it
