  1. Sounds an awful lot like a clogged vent tube to the outside.  If the air you're heating can't get out of the dryer and pull fresh air in, then the thermostats will shut down the flame till the heat gets dissipated and the drum cools down.  Check the outside vent with the flapper for clumps of lint blocking the opening and if it's one of the plastic over wire lines take it down and either clean it or replace it.

  2. Are you experiencing this while trying to dry a load of damp-wet clothes? If so, I would say that YES, there's something wrong with the drum temperature sensing unit -- OR your blower discharge might be clogged so that the proper amount of air from the room isn,t being circulated through the drying drum and THROUGH A CLEAN FILTER to the outside.

  3. The vent pipe from dryer needs cleaned.  This is most likely your problem if the tub continues to turn.

  4. It could be the safety thermostat shutting off the burner. This can happen if one of your regular thermostats are not shutting the burner off and the dryer is relying on the safety. The only way to know for certain is to have a thermometer inside the dryer to see what temperature the dryer is getting to before it shuts off. If it is exceeding the normal cut off temperature then its that particular thermostat that is the issue.
