Whirlpool Gold double electric oven Model...

Approximately 3 years ago we had to have the touchpad panel/computer board replaced for the oven referenced above. Now the lights in both ovens won't shut off, and the tech says the computer board has to be replaced (again), at a cost (parts and labor) of $450. Does this sound like the proper solution? Is it common for this model's computer board to have to be replaced every few years? The oven is approximately 8 years old.
