  1. Your burner is probably burnt out. They are cheap, easy to replace, and available at any home store.

  2. OK, does your stove have coils that glow red hot when the stove is turned on, or do you have a glass top cooker? If it's the coils, try making sure the coil's two contact elements are inserted properly. MAKE SURE THE STOVE IS OFF FIRST! Then lift up the coil with your fingers. It should raise several inches on one side but the other side won't raise up because the connecting prongs are inserted into the wiring harness. If you can simply lift up the entire coil and remove it then the two connecting prongs are not in the wiring harness. Gently push the two prongs back into the wiring harness slot. There are two slots. The wiring harness is typically black and attached to the underside of the metal stove top. Let's see if I can explain this easier. The cooking element, or coil, sits in a silver bowl, right? The metal bowl, which catches drips, has two holes: one in the bottom and one on the side where the coil disappears into. Actually, two strands of the coil disappear into the hole. The two prongs are inserted into a wiring harness. Sometimes grease gets on the prongs and causes it to slide out. Reseat it by simply pushing the prongs into the hole. If that doesn't work, your coil could be broken. Is it? If it's cracked, you'll notice it. Simply pull off the coil and look. If it's not cracked then maybe your plastic wiring harness is cracked or burned. Is it? Take off the coil and the bowl and inspect the black wiring harness connector. It's easy to replace if need be. One s***w holds it in place and a new one only costs a couple of bucks. good luck

Wait a sec, do you mean to say that your coil gets hot —  you can feel heat with the palm of your hand — but it doesn't get hot enough to boil water? Then I'd say check your dial. It' s probably cracked and you are actually setting the stove on medium or low and not realizing it. Take off the  k**b and with a pair of pliers turn the dial all the way one way, wait a couple of minutes, and then turn it all the way the other way and see if that makes a difference. new k***s are cheap.

  3. I will give you another answer. Check the fuse box. It may have been wired with two separate breakers for 220. Maybe one of the breakers is blown , then you are only getting 110 volts. This happened to my neice. She could not cook for years until ask her why I could not boil water. Then I got to checkin' and found the problem.
